Experience diversity on a private safari in Tanzania

Tanzania has much more to offer than its magnificent nature and the immense wealth of animals in the national parks. For example, there is the colourful and sometimes chaotic port metropolis of Dar-es-Salam. Even without world-class sights, for many people a stopover in Tanzania’s largest city is a must on a tour of the East African country. At the markets you can experience the full diversity of the African cuisine. But the multi-ethnic population also makes Tanzania an extremely exciting travel destination. Tanzania borders the two largest lakes in Africa, Lake Victoria and Lake Tanganyika. In the south there is also Lake Malawi, which is rich in fish.

Arrival and travel period for Tanzania

Let yourself be inspired!

With Lufthansa, KLM and Swiss, for example, you can get from Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland to Tanzania, usually with a stopover. Selected airlines offer some direct flights. You can receive the entry visa after landing at the airport or you can apply for it online in advance (please note, not for all countries needed). Once you arrive in Tanzania, we will pick you up directly from the airport and take you to your lodge.

The dry season in Tanzania is from June to October and from December to March. This is the best time to travel to the East African country. During the big rainy season from April to May there is sometimes very heavy rainfall, and there is also a small rainy season in November. Be sure to pack a tried and tested anti-insect spray in your luggage.

Useful background knowledge about Tanzania

Tanzania is almost three times the size of Germany, has a population of 65 million inhabitants and extends just south of the equator. The East African country has long been considered politically stable and has been attracting many wealthy safari guests ever since Bernhard Grzimek’s activities in Tanzania.

To date, one of the largest animal migrations on the planet takes place in the Serengeti, with three million animals. Even chimpanzees and gorillas live in the west of the country. Tanzania combines flora and fauna on its territory like few other African countries. The country used to be a German colony for a few decades under the name German East Africa.
