Vacation Zanzibar

A visit to Stone Town (1/2 day):
Stone Town is the oldest part of Zanzibar with many houses and buildings made of light coral stone. The city has many Arabic influences. You will get a guided tour through the beautiful winding alleys.

Cooking together with Tanzanian mamas (three hours):
You will take part in a cooking class and get to know the wide variety of local spices, vegetables and regional ingredients. Together with the help of Tanzanian mamas, you will prepare original Tanzanian dishes, which you can enjoy afterwards. Chakula Kizuri!

A visit to a spice farm (1/2 day):
For many years, Zanzibar was the only clove producer in the world. A visit to a spice plantation is worthwhile! You will see how cinnamon, turmeric, cloves, pepper, vanilla, etc. grow and are harvested. You can also try some yourself.
In addition, you can book a cooking class after your visit to the spice farm. In the class, you will work with local women to incorporate the spices you have just learned about into traditional dishes.

Prison Island (1/2 Tag):
Take a trip to Prison Island with your private guide. You will see the old prison, which was built but never used as such, but as a quarantine station for yellow fever when Stone Town was threatened by an epidemic that could have spread to the whole of East Africa. There you will have some time to explore the island's sandy beach, go snorkeling, and you may even come across the giant tortoises that live on the island.

Jozani Forest (1/2 Tag):
Jozani Forest is one of the last remaining refuges in the world for red colobus monkeys. With a private guide, you will enter the area, where you can marvel at huge trees, a mangrove forest and many medically useful plants. In addition, there are many different species of butterflies and birds, chameleons and much more to discover.

Snorkeling at Mnemba Island (1/2 day or full day):
Mnemba Island is located in the northeast off the coast of Zanzibar and is ideal for snorkeling. This tour can be extended as a day tour, with an additional barbecue at noon on a sandbank. You can see countless colorful fish during the snorkeling tour and maybe even dolphins!

The fishing grounds around the island groups of Zanzibar are teeming with a wide variety of fish that will make the heart of any deep-sea angler beat faster. Almost all year round, there are many good fishing grounds here to pack up your fishing rod and head out into the Indian Ocean. Quite a few vacationers report that they have hardly experienced such strong and willing fish anywhere as in Zanzibar!

Sailing trip:
The Safari Blue Experience offers a fascinating day trip on a traditional dhow sailing boat. During the trip, you will have the opportunity to snorkel in the colorful coral reefs and explore the diverse underwater world with its colorful fish. Enjoy a relaxing time on a sandbank, where you can take a refreshing dip to recharge your batteries before indulging in a delicious Swahili seafood lunch. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to take a dip in the mangroves and, with a little luck, even see dolphins.
